Email comments and suggestions for future films to: jeff_brisbin@hotmail.com Perhaps they will one day be deemed worthy by yours truly and be given a chance to spread their wings and soar like a majestic eagle.
I am incredibly handsome, devilishly charming, brutally intelligent, and unceasingly humble. I am 30 years of age and am frequently told that I behave as though I am 6 and a half. My interests include potty humor and cheap liquor. I daydream about sacrifice flies and have been known to routinely put away over a pound of beef (with a dozen or so slices of bacon for flavor) before noon. ...Sorry, ladies. This catch has already been reeled in. C'est la vie, senoritas.s.

We've covered a lot of ground here at SWM. Farce comedy, an animated children's film, even a ground-breaking science fiction masterpiece that was penned by a passionate writer other than myself that should seriously be turned into a major motion picture... so could someone please make this man's dream come true? You can email him. Go ahead.
Anyway, I figured that it was time for this site to put together a soundtrack for a non-existent drama. An emotional tour de force that would leave you not only sobbing, but thinking as well. Considering the meaning of life and love. Pondering the forces that guide us through the days and years, towards our inevitible end.
Whatever. Here goes nothing:
Cars Can't Escape
Patrick has just learned that his father was in a car accident while on a business trip in Seattle. Things aren't looking so good for him, and Patrick feels as though he must get to the hospital to see him.
Patrick's grandfather, Lou, naturally wants to see his son through this difficult time, and asks to join Patrick on the trip from Dallas. He refuses to fly, citing the dangers inherent in air travel, regardless of the fact that his own son was just critically injured while driving.
So the 23 year old grandson drives his grandfather north. [Cue: "Dead Man Walking" by Paul Brisbin]
We quickly realize that they are essentially strangers. It seems that their relationship had been nothing more than holiday greetings and sports scores. Slowly, they begin to connect. They even like some of the same music. [Cue: The Zombies' version of "Summertime."]
At a truckstop over dinner, Lou reveals that his marraige with Patrick's grandmother was never easy. [Cue: Midlake playing "Young Bride."]
"Your grandmother, she never even wanted a husband. Not me, anyway."
"That's crazy."
"She only married me because she was pregnant."
"With Dad?"
"No. She lost the baby while we were on our honeymoon. She blamed me. Can you believe that?"
"People have diferent ways of dealing with stuff like that... I don't know what I'd do..."
"Well, she was never very warm towards me. Except in public. I told her to leave, y'know? If that's what she wanted... She never said why she stayed. She was never all that happy. I tried, Patrick."
The film is filled with the obligatory road trip montages of moving landscapes and horizons. [Cue Full Grown Spiders' "Views From The First House."]
We leave the two men as they enter Seattle, with this piece of their journey behind them. Obviously, much was left out of this synopsis, but the idea is presented.
Here is the rest of the soundtrack. Enjoy.
Loose Fur - "The Ruling Class"
Paul Brisbin - "Dead Man Walking" (The song he played as we walked down "the aisle" at my wedding. Thanks again, Paul. He's the only person who visits this site.)

Paul Duncan - "Oil In The Fields"
Tim Bluhm - "Hell is the Highway"
Midlake - "Young Bride" (Live) (via bradley's almanac)
Iron & Wine - "Smokestack Lightning" (Howlin' Wolf cover... Yes... THAT Howlin' Wolf.)
