Foreign Films
-A Chinese Odyssey 2002
Okay, so this *has* to be the funniest movie every created. Just, so much great satire. It's clever and silly, with just enough drama to keep you interested. Very unpredictable too, which I like. The acting is absolutely magnificent (a star studded cast that can actually act, what a novel idea)! The music is fantastic as well.

-Le Papillon (The Butterfly)
Very touching movie. A well thought out, interesting, plot. Lots of great dialogue, and some humor. Wonderful acting. Just a really great mix here.

-Justice My Foot!
I really love this movie, because it's very funny, and very sad at the same time. You have a very funny couple that's lost 13 children, but it's not sick in the way that they find their situation funny. It's a great comical piece with much more serious themes.

-Amélie
I honestly cannot say much about this movie. I saw it when I was little, and I remember loving it- the colors, the story telling, and just the general flow of the movie. I've forgotten most everything about it though, and, unfortunately, now that I'm old enough to understand some of the "themes" (as my parents put it) I'm not allowed to watch it. My parents love it though, and we have very similar tastes.

-He Ain't Heavy, He's My Father
Just a very interesting movie. Very common main theme (a son getting to know and understand his father), but done in a very unique and interesting way. It's almost like... How I Met Your Mother, and funny like the show too, but more compact.

Alright, I'll do sci-fi. Here are my personal five favorite science fiction movies:

5. Plan 9 From Outer Space - The stereotypical "worst movie of all time" is so sublime in its imperfection that it makes my top five. It is said that no one has the courage these days to make another film as good as "The Godfather". I think that no one has the courage to make another film as bad as "Plan 9".
4. 2001: A Space Odyssey - This movie contains the secret to the meaning of life, but I just can't decipher it. The fifteen minutes of swirling colors is fantastic. For such an incredibly slow movie, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
3. Blade Runner - This is an absolutely beautiful film, especially the final director's cut. The sets, special effects, lighting, and especially the score put the viewer in a completely different world. I love this movie.
2. The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Just an extremely fun movie and it never gets old, no matter how many times you see it. I absolutely love the extreme campiness and over-the-top style of everything. There's a reason some people dedicate their entire lives to this film.
1. A Clockwork Orange - My favorite movie of all time, period. The most beautiful use of the camera, framing, everything that makes a film great. The content isn't nearly as important to me as the technical aspects.

I have never liked Star Wars. It seems like more of a kids' movie.

Additional: WOW! No one else followed directions.
